UAF’s 158th Airlift Delivers $7.3 Million of Aid to Armenia

For this flight, the UAF itself collected $6.8 million of medicines and medical supplies donated by various charities, including AmeriCares ($5.5 million), Health Partners International of Canada ($651,000), Catholic Medical Mission Board ($548,000) and Direct Relief International ($24,000). Other organizations which contributed goods for this airlift were: Dr. Mary Alani/Focus Armenia ($139,000), NY Armenian Students Association ($47,000), Eastern Prelacy ($45,000), DESY Laboratory of Germany ($41,000), Armenian Missionary Association of America ($37,000), Dr. Stephen Kashian ($35,000), Armenian EyeCare Project ($33,000) and St. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church ($32,000). Also contributing supplies to this airlift were: Armenian Bone Marrow Registry ($15,000), Society of Orphaned Armenian Relief ($12,000), Dr. Hagop Pambookian ($11,000), Foundation Semra ($10,000), Armenian Technology Group ($10,000) and Herman Hintiryan ($9,000). Since its inception in 1989, the UAF has sent $612 million of humanitarian assistance to Armenia on board 158 airlifts and 1,852 sea containers. The UAF is the collective effort of the Armenian Catholic Eparchy, Armenian General Benevolent Union, Armenian Missionary Association of America, Armenian Relief Society, Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America, and The Lincy Foundation.
